Debut as a Voice Announcer – A Valuable Experience at Nagoya Noh Theater

I recently had the privilege of participating in a government-hosted inbound tourism event as an MC assistant and observer. Held at the Nagoya Noh Theater, the event offered international guests a unique opportunity to experience traditional Japanese performing arts through a kyogen performance and hands-on workshops.

In addition to assisting as an MC, I also handled reception duties, warmly welcoming international guests from the entrance. Many of them did not speak Japanese, so I was able to utilize my English skills to communicate effectively and ensure a smooth experience, which boosted my confidence.

During this event, I made my debut as a voice announcer, taking on this role for the first time. It was an incredibly valuable experience that deepened my understanding of how crucial it is to tailor announcements to the atmosphere of the venue. This opportunity also provided me with significant insights into the skills I need to refine as a bilingual MC.

I’m deeply grateful for being selected among many talented MCs and for the chance to grow through such a meaningful experience. Moving forward, I aim to further develop my abilities and become a professional who can enhance cultural exchange events with my contributions.
