[Expo MC Report] Saint Vincent & the Grenadines – Music, Warmth, and Little Miracles

On September 25th, I served as the bilingual MC for the reception of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines at the Guest House.
The atmosphere was filled with warmth, color, and the joy of cultural exchange.

One of the highlights of the evening was a special performance by the world-renowned artist Kevin Lyttle.
The moment he began singing his hit song “Turn Me On,” the entire room lit up —
people started smiling, moving to the rhythm, and capturing the moment on their phones.
It was such a pure, shared joy that reminded me of how powerful music can be.

After the reception, one of the ministers kindly came up to me and handed me a small national pin badge.
It was the very first pin badge I had ever received, and it made me truly happy.

This event was also my first time using an iPad for my script.
I had always relied on printed paper, but after seeing senior MCs using tablets, I decided to try it myself.
Since scripts often get updated at the last minute, having everything digital made it much smoother.
I still have a lot to learn, but I’m excited to make it my own.

In formal settings like this, I always try to balance professionalism with warmth.
As a bilingual MC, I hope every word I speak — in English or Japanese — can make people feel seen and connected.

That night reminded me once again that both language and music have the power to bring hearts together.
